Breaking Trough Stereotypes

If we look closely at our daily lives, it is possible that we may have developed stereotypical images of people from other countries. It is a relatively normal tendency to judge and categorize things quickly using stereotypes. We may think, "That country must be like.., Women should be like this.., Men should be like this..., teachers , adults should be... etc. These kinds of stereotypes vary from country to country.

 When considering relationships with or our attitudes towards other countries, these stereotypes may grow more inflexible in our minds unless we expose them and think about them critically. We believe that it is important to openly discuss these ideas, which usually reside in our unconscious mind, so we can improve the relations between countries, especially among the countries participating in the W.Y.M.

One means of addressing this problem might be to reconstruct our approach to our daily lives. By sharing information, via recent technological innovations, like SNSs, or paying attention to global issues among the countries participating in the W.Y.M., we can develop a better understanding of each other's lives, cultures and countries. It should be emphasized that nourishing international-relations on a daily basis would help to overcome these stereotypes. This is crucial for the well being of our international and global society.

ステレオタイプを打ち破る　　

われわれが自分たちの日常生活を丁寧に点検してみると、知らないうちに、他国の人を予断で見ることをしてしまっているかもしれない。確かにステレオタイプを使って人を見たり、分類することは比較的普通にやることかもしれない。

わわわれはつい次のように考えてしまう。あの国はこんな国だ、女性はかくあるべきだ、男性はかくあるべき、大人も先生もかくあるべき　などと。この種の予断は　国によって異なる。

他の国に対する態度や国際連携を考えるとき、私たちがそれらに焦点を当て、批判的に点検しない限り、これらのステレオタイプはより、動かし難く強固になる。

　この問題は無意識に横たわっている問題あることから、特にWYMの参加者とオープンに話し合うことは重要であると考えている。この問題を扱うことは日常生活のあり方を見直ことになるかもしれない。

SNSなどの最新のテクノロジーで情報を共有したり、WYM参加の国々ととともに、国際的な課題に注意を払うことによって、相互理解を発展させ、お互いの生活、文化を理解することができる。

国際連携を日常的に育てる　それが「予断」を打ち破ることであるということが把握されるべきであろう。

  当我们仔细地检点自己的日常行为时，可能很不自觉的介入个人的主观思想来判断其他国家的朋友们。确实，我们经常用古板的固定观念把事物分类，做比较。

   我们经常这样想：那个国家是这样的！女人就应该这样做，男人就应该那样做，成年人与老师就得这样那样做等。国家的不同，与之带来的观念就不同。

   如果我们不丢掉那些刻板的观念，与国际合作时就会很难运作。

   这个问题在不意识中已经延伸到我们生活的各个地方，不过我们也可以寻找到一条可以改善的通道。比如，毫不保留的与WYM的参加者一起交流。

   用最新的SNS技术来分享资讯，与WYM的参加国家一起，通过了解相互的生活，文化来加深国家与国家的发展。

   我们每天都在增长有关国际合作的知识，它也教会我们如何打破偏见。

   为了在国际社会里生活的更好，这一点很重要。
