Strengthening Connections into the Future.

-- You will never walk alone--

The Great East Japan Earthquake, which we had long feared, happened last year. But, relief supplies were sent to the Tohoku region immediately from all over the world. In some countries events were started, like “Run for Japan”, to gather financial aid for Japan, some individuals sent e-mails to show their sympathy for the sorrows of friends in Japan. Many people left a lasting impression by undertaking such sympathetic actions. This may be the best time to get know how people in the world work together with warm-hearted concern.

Unfortunately, we have to realize that we have a tendency to feel less about international connections in our daily lives due to the interests and concerns in our immediate vicinity. One’s language environment, in which only a mother tongue is used, also causes a similar situation. Insularism closes the window on the world.

We expect the participants of the World Youth Meeting, an International Collaborative Project, to show their unique solutions with regards to the issue of making stronger ties among people around the world. When every means of connecting with others, like the internet, human relations, international organizations or Global education in schools, are synchronized, we can discover a blue print for our future. “Strengthening Connections into the Future.” It’s time to share ideas on how to rebuild our understanding of the future by rethinking the way we approach our daily lives.

未来につなげる

未曾有の東日本大震災が起こってしまった。悲しい出来事ではあるが、それは同時に世界の人々が被災者に心を寄せ、行動した時でもあった。世界各国で救済とのためのイベントが開催された。世界の心が動いた瞬間でもあった。

　我々は暮らしの中、残念ながら世界との繋がりを忘れやすい。狭い関心や言語の閉鎖性がもたらしている。今回WYMに集う若者はこの時代に、「世界と繋がり続け、素晴らしい未来」を描いていきたい。ネットワーク、外国語学習、国際連携組織への参加、さまざまな方法で、我々の日常と世界が繋がることが可能となる。

　未来につなげるその提言をプレゼンテーションから学んでいこう。

这是一件伤痛的事情，不过与此同时，我们也看到了世界人们对受灾者的关怀以及他们付出的行动。

为此，在世界各地也举办了各种救济的活动

这也是“世界的心”在跳动的瞬间

很遗憾，在我们的生活中与世界相结合的东西很容易被遗忘。

这也同时给我们带来了狭窄的兴趣及封闭性的语言

这次的WYM、把这个时代的年轻人聚到一起。我们想一起来描绘一个「与世界连接的美好未来」。用网络和英语向世界联合组织进发！用这种方法，使我们的生活与世界接轨变得有可能。
