• 飲酒や喫煙の規則が厳しい

During our E-mail exchange and the exchange of digital pictures and questionnaires we learnt a lot about Japan.

There are both differences and similarities. And I would like to start with some differences we found out: We can wear casual clothes but Japanese students must wear school uniform.

We were surprised that they must study very hard for their entrance exams at university. In Germany only some students visit extra classes after school but in Japan this is quite normal. Your rules for drinking alcohol and smoking are stricter.

Many German students smoke at the age of 16 if the parents allow it, for Japanese students it is only allowed when they are 20. (Melanie)
